Abortion and Gun Control
Here are two topics that always seem to be brought up at elections. It seems that people are very closed mind on these two. I picked these two for several reasons. One, the thought process that people use to pick one side or the other is the same. Two, it does not matter which side you pick to support, both sides are no more right or wrong.
Most times when someone picks a side on a subject, the decision they make in the beginning comes from their life experiences and very seldom does knowledge have any say in it. As we all grow up and go thru life, we start to learn why things are not as they appear. As each generation goes thru life, they learn life is not what it appears to be. They start to understand why their parents did what they did to raise their children. Could this be where racism starts and grows?
I believe in pro-choice for that person and that is how the laws should be. Nobody or laws should have the right to tell someone that they can or cannot have an abortion. This how discrimination also gets started. I believe that it should not be used as a from of birth control. I also believe that it should be mandatory in rape, incest and when the mother health/life is at risk. If you are going to have sex, you should take precautions so you will not get pregnant. When you do get pregnant, you should already know if you are going to keep it or abort it. Also, the decision on what you are going to do also includes the person you had sex with. If it becomes a health issue, then a doctor should have an input. These are not easy decision to make, only you can make it. Some times to many outside influences can lead you down the wrong road. You also have to look down the road and to understand the results of your decision you make. This is where the decision or side you take is not either right or wrong, but how you let it run/lead your life from here. Nobody should condemn you for your decision, just respect it and understand it.
I do not believe in gun control the way our leaders want us to. I view the gun as an object that has and fills many definitions. First; what is a gun, it is a tool that makes a control chemical reaction that produces high gas pressures that push an object out/down a tube. Using this definition, is a gun a weapon, tool or both. Yes; a gun is a tool first, but how it is used is how people defined it and the side people take. First, any tool (car, alcohol, computer, knife, etc.) can be a weapon to defend you, kill or hurt someone. A gun can save a life too just like a car, alcohol, computer, knife and so on. The reason gun control is so much of an issue is it can do a lot of damage by just about anybody, young and old, male or female. Another side of guns is that to many it is art work, entertainment and mental/physical challenge to shoot. It also can bring a lot of memories of the past like when you younger and growing up. The side you choose is based on how you were raised around guns and your life exposure to them.
If you let your fears and beliefs guide you without thought, then your decision you made will be no better than flipping a coin. Yes, sometimes you have to make a hard decision right then and there, but hopefully those decision will not come and haunt you later. Your decision you make on any subject or your reaction on a event can be copied or miss read by others, so be cautious on how you apply the knowledge you have acquired in life!
